STRATEGIC ADVICE TO
PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS
TMR Strategic LLP was founded in 2009 and provides strategic advice to private equity firms on all aspects of capital raising. The firm focuses on the smaller end of the European private equity market which it defines as firms requiring EUR 100 million to EUR 500 million of investor capital.
It has particular expertise in relation to emerging managers, including those who look to raise capital on a deal-by-deal basis or via other non-conventional funding structures such as concentrated mini-funds.
Tim Reid founded TMR Strategic in 2009.
He has a career spanning over 30 years in private equity advisory, investment banking and law in prestigious global firms. As a Senior Partner of the leading European boutique placement firm for the six years prior to founding TMR Strategic, Tim led a large number of industry-leading private equity fundraisings. In his prior positions, he led a number of landmark corporate finance transactions and debt restructurings.
Given Tim’s background in private equity fundraising, law and investment banking. TMR Strategic is best positioned to assist clients with all aspects of the capital raising process.
TMRS' founder, Tim Reid, was the Co-Chairman of the London Business Board of the NSPCC, the UK’s largest children’s charity from 2014 to 2016, and the firm has been a substantial donor to the NSPCC. TMR Strategic also supports a number of other UK and international charities.
TMRS funds a programme within primary schools to help underprivileged children learn to play musical instruments. The firm has also had a scholarship programme with Otago University in New Zealand to assist students in studying Law.
The firm has an internship programme to introduce undergraduates to the private equity industry.
TMR Strategic operates on a different model than traditional private equity advisers. The firm was built around a consultancy model which focuses on supporting its clients to build strong investor relationships within a relevant timeframe.
TMRS has extremely strong relationships with leading global investors, particularly across Europe. These relationships have been built up over many years and in most cases are at a personal level with key decision makers.
The firm works with only a small number of clients at any one time meaning that ıt is seen to be highly selective in its choice of funds that it presents to the investor community. This is re-enforced by the fact that the firm also invests capital with the vast majority of its clients.
